IOB was founded in 1998 by Dr. Baselga and Dr. Tabernero, who currently directs the Gastrointestinal cancer unit and was the president of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2018-2019 and is currently a member of its Board of Directors.
The collaboration between the Quironsalud Group, a leader in Spain in healthcare services with more than 60 years of experience caring for people’s health, and IOB, a pioneering medical organization in Spain in the approach to cancer, ensure a complementary nature with the subsequent benefit to our patients in the present and in the future.
IOB is made up of a group of specialists who are internationally renowned in each of the areas of oncology and hematology; a multidisciplinary team that provides an overall and complete view of cancer that is always focused on the patient’s personalized therapy.
Our oncologists are pioneers in the design and development of clinical trials and precision oncology. Their extensive experience in the clinical setting and the laboratory environment allows each one of IOB’s oncologists to be experts in a specific pathology and to be able to decide what is the most suitable treatment for each patient.
