Continuous Care Unit

Continuous Care Unit

This unit’s goal is to provide support to support the patient by the hand of their usual oncologists.

The work of this unit begins with the diagnosis, by coordinating the quick diagnosis consultation and a rapidly arranging of the necessary tests.

Additionally, the unit assesses patients that are going to begin onco-specific treatment to analyze risk factors, prior illnesses and consultation regarding vaccination and prevention.

Patients who are or have been in treatment can come urgently for symptom control and treatment of possible complications, both on an outpatient basis and in hospital.

If admittance to the clinic is required, the Continuous Care Unit will see to the daily monitoring, treatment and coordination with different specialists to guarantee multidisciplinary care, with the valuable collaboration of the renowned specialist in infectious diseases, Dr. Isabel Ruiz

The support for the patients does not end there. If palliative care or end of life care is needed, we are there for the patients and their families, to carry through on the fundamental relationship built over the length of the process.

This team is led by Dr. María Ferrer and Dr. Isabel Ruiz.
